One River,
A Shared Lifeline,
A Living Inheritance.
The Rio Grande Institute works to foster appreciation of the unique economic, cultural, and natural resources of the Rio Grande / Rio Bravo borderlands, and to facilitate informed action to conserve those resources and use them for the public good.
What we do
Appreciate
We work to deepen public understanding of the borderlands as a single living region, where its economy, its cultures, and its ecology are inseparable.
Conserve
We work to protect the water, land, and heritage of the Rio Grande / Rio Bravo for the communities and species that depend on them, on both sides of the river.
Inform action
We convene people and gather knowledge so that decisions about the river's future are made with care, evidence, and the public good in mind.
